The London School of Management Education held a second International Conference from 13th to 15th January 2016 based on the theme ‘Responsible Research in Education and Management and its Impact’. Over eighty delegates from nineteen different countries attended this Conference. The Conference was graced by eminent Guests from Political, International Governmental, Diplomatic and Academic Institutions. The Chief Guest was Lord Dholakia from the UK House of Lords.
The event was highlighted by very impressive and useful keynote addresses, special lectures and academic paper presentations. In his eye opening lecture on “Mobilising Resources for Sustainable Development Goals’’, Mr Shantha Retnasingam of UNESCO clarified the role played by private organisations in building the network of humanity’s moral and intellectual solidarity. Professor Stephen McKinney of the University of Glasgow and Dr Peter Gray of the Norwegian University of Science & Technology reiterated the relevance of responsible research and its impact on policy users and Dr Dan Exton from Operation Wallacea presented his work on responsible research in action and most importantly introduced his model for sustainable research funding. Mr Paul Loranger, a Canadian Education Consultant concluded the sessions with his interesting topic which highlighted how to teach wisdom in schools. The Conference also provided an opportunity to all delegates to network and discuss future collaborative plans for Responsible and sustainable research.
