Job Title: Employment and Career Officer

Reports to: Head of Employer Engagement Hub

Job Purpose: London School of Management Education (LSME) is a Higher Education provider based in East London with niche areas of Business Management, Hospitality Management, Health and Social Care, Teacher Training and Accounting and Finance. LSME is a forward-thinking, fast-paced, highly innovative college looking to build a team of creative and competent staff. It is currently seeking a suitable candidate to support the implementation of Employer Engagement strategy for moving students to Graduate Employment. The candidate will work with the relevant internal team and external partners to meet the following two broad objectives:

  • Deliver various graduate level employment projects of LSME Employment and Enterprise Hub (EEH) and to help move Under Graduate and Post Graduate students into graduate level works/managerial or Post Graduate training, and
  • Co-ordinate, the employment activities with a focus on working with local businesses to broker opportunities for LSME students to access graduate-level work experience, internships, employment and apprenticeships.

Key Responsibilities

  • The day-to-day coordination of employment and skills development activities focussed on engaging with employers to provide opportunities.
  • To develop and coordinate employment with networks across the UK in order to implement LSME’s employer engagement strategy.
  • To explore, identify and establish tangible opportunities ensuring those engaged in the programme to receive support and guidance to move closer to graduate-level employment, and ensure that outcomes are evident.
  • To support the development and implementation of the employment initiatives in accordance with strategic objectives, targets and policies of LSME EEH.
  • To develop, strengthen and maintain employer partnerships ensuring their engagement in shaping the curriculum and student progression.
  • To monitor and achieve the required outcomes from the EEH, employability and enterprise initiatives.
  • To provide reports on progress with recommendations for improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to increase and widen engagement activities, particularly in underrepresented groups.

General

  • To implement and positively promote equal opportunities in service delivery and employment practices.
  • To undertake training and attend meetings as required and as directed by LSME management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and guidelines of the institute at all times.
  • To carry out any other duties which are consistent or commensurate with the role and/or as directed by senior management.

Required Qualification: Undergraduate level qualification in a relevant area.

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
