11th Annual LSME International Conference

Delegates, presenters, speakers, special guests, key note speakers and renowned international subject specialists from three continents and multiple time-zones convened on Tuesday 12th November for the 11th in the long running International Conference Series hosted by the London School of Management Education (LSME). Featuring a wide range of papers from early career and established academic researchers under the umbrella theme of ‘Re-Visioning Practice in Education, Health Care and Business’ the conference continued the high energy/high quality tradition of open-access participation in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) for which LSME has rightly become celebrated as a pioneer and advocate of practical exploration of pressing challenges.

This professionally curated event saw research papers delivered by researchers from India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, Nigeria and the UK, in themed sessions built around Education, Business and Commerce, Social and Environmental Sciences, and Health & Social Care, in groups chaired online by experienced academics.

The delivery platform provided seamless integration across multiple time-zones to enable synchronous interaction between presenters and the streamed audience participating across three continents.

Key Note addresses, delivered by highly regarded members of the Conference organising committee, provided insights into the challenges of re-visioning practice in dynamic disciplines, and the future road map for the core theme adopted by LSME in each of the past ten year’s conferences, namely Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI).

The specially invited Guests of Honour, provided contextual perspective on Conference proceedings. Professor Rajan Welukar (Vice Chancellor, ATLAS Skilltech University, Mumbai, India) explored the connections between access to good educational opportunity and the health and prosperity of society, noting the value of ancient wisdom in informing modern day practice. Professor William Phiri (Vice Chancellor Chalimbana University, Zambia) spoke of the role of conferences like this in advancing solutions to common challenges and issues facing humanity, through the sharing of perspectives and the influence that new ideas bring onto policy development.

Conference Convener, Dr Ravi Kumar (Executive Director of LSME) announcing the launch of the Research Book from the 10th Conference in 2023, which will take place in December, noted that the next in the series will revert to a face to face format rather than being delivered online. Conference Chair (Professor Stephen McKinney, University of Glasgow) thanked all participants for their excellent engagement in proceedings and commended presenting delegates for the quality of their papers, which were all delivered as per programme and in the allotted time.
