London School of Management Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ramanand Arya DAV College, Mumbai University of India

London School of Management Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ramanand Arya DAV College, Mumbai University of India to pursue international research collaborations on 24 January 2019 at the Grange City Hotel, London.

The Rt Hon Lord Dholakia PC OBE DL as the Chief Guest of the Ceremony said that, the“British has the finest of names in the field of Education, nowhere in the world you can go and get better” and further he went on to say that, one has to ask if appropriate research has been carried out, before tabling any public bill about its long term implication on the people and the society.

The Mayor of Redbridge, Madam Debbie Kaur-Thiara, who graced the Ceremony as the Guest of Honour while congratulating the parties said that, “we sincerely acknowledge this collaboration between two great institutes as a significant step forward achieving their vision” in furthering research.

A delegation from Ramanand Arya DAV College, Mumbai University travelled to London from India to participate in the Ceremony. Dr Ravi Kumar, Executive Director of LSME and Mr Vinod Sharma, Honorary Secretary of Uttari Sabha Trust, which governs the DAV College signed the MoU witnessed by a host of diplomats, local politicians, academics, corporate sector representatives, students and staff.

Dr Ravi Kumar, Executive Director explained the reasons for international research collaborations saying that, “LSME’s Research Agenda is an ambitious plan for us to grow into a research-led dynamic Higher Education institute that conducts national and international research which helps the society”.The MoU would lead the two institutes to conduct joint research, organise conferences, share expertise and arrange exchange programmes.

While speaking about the expectations,Dr Ajay Bhamare, the Principal of Ramanand Arya DAV College and Dean of Mumbai University indicated that, the “research culture in India is gaining momentum and it is an opportune moment to join hands with UK counterparts and further expand the horizon of research”.  Ramanand Arya DAV College is a fast growing institute currently catering 13,000 students in many different disciplines.

Also present among the dignitaries was Vice-Chancellor of G.H Raisoni University of India, Professor Rajan Welukar who travelled with the delegation from Mumbai. While commenting on the importance of the partnership he said that, “Mumbai and London being very diverse mega-cities are fertile grounds for meaningful research and hence this partnership will give a lot of aspiration for young researchers from both the countries to come forth with brilliant research ideas”.

LSME, based in London Borough of Redbridge, delivers higher education in the areas of Teacher Training, Health and Social Care and Business Management in partnership with Chichester University.
