LSME Celebrates the Launch of the Research Book Following its 10th International Conference on ‘Education for All’

On the 5^th of December 2024, the London School of Management Education (LSME) proudly unveiled its latest research book, a culmination of insights from the 10th International Conference on ‘Education for All,’ held in October 2023. The hybrid event was hosted by LSME where the  global participants joined via Zoom Platform and celebrated a year of thought-provoking discussions and research focused on advancing education equity and accessibility.

The event featured an impressive number of global educational experts and leaders from the UK, India, Maldives, Nepal, UAE, Sri Lanka, Canada, Nigeria and Zambia. The Chief Guest, former Mayor of the London Borough of Redbridge, Cllr Jyotsna Islam, delivered a powerful keynote speech emphasising the transformative impact of inclusive education. Professor William Phiri, Vice Chancellor of Chalimbana University, Zambia, further enriched the event with his insights into global education challenges, particularly those facing his country Zambia and advocated for future collaboration with LSME. He acknowledged that the research book embodies the spirit of UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4) emphasising the need for collaborative, innovative, and inclusive solutions to address the challenges in education globally. Joining them were esteemed academics, including Professor Snaith from the London Southbank University, Professor Chandra Bhadra, from Phokhra University, Nepal, and Cllr Sunil Chopra, former Mayor of the London Borough of Southwark. Their collective contributions underscored the importance of education in promoting progress in society.

The ceremony began with a heartfelt welcome address by Professor Stephen McKinney (Chair of the Conference Committee), who reflected on LSME’s legacy, tracing the evolution of our international conference series since its inception in 2015. He celebrated the institution’s dedication to advancing education for all.

LSME’s Executive Director and Conference Convenor, Dr Ravi Kumar, shared highlights from the recent conference and the collaborative efforts that led to the development of the research book. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests, conference committee members and the peer-review team, researchers and all contributors for their meticulous efforts to ensure the quality and integrity of the research that is published in the book. He highlighted the features of the research book indicating that it contains an array of abstracts and full-length research papers spanning critical topics such as strategies for inclusive pedagogy; digital innovation in education; sustainable learning practices; and the empowerment of marginalised groups through education, including ensuring gender parity in education and Adult education; widening access and participation in Lifelong learning; rising cost and affordability of education; intercultural issues in Education and Sustainable development and Climate change education.

Presentations by Martin McAreavey of Bolton University and Dr Mohamed Mahid Shareef from Maldives offered glimpses into their compelling research contributions.

The highlight of the event was the official launch of the research book by members of the conference committee present on-site. This significant milestone symbolises LSME’s continued commitment to promoting dialogue and collaboration on education for all.

The Principal of LSME and a member of the Conference Committee, the Dr Sarita previewed the upcoming 12th International Conference, setting the stage for continued exploration of critical education themes. Adding depth to the discourse, Professor Peter Gray, a Conference Committee member delivered a thought-provoking discussion on the relevance of the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) concept, resonating with the audience.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by the Vice Principal of LSME, Dr Dolly Jackson Sillah expressing gratitude to the distinguished guests, contributors, attendees, and partners who made the 10th International Conference a monumental success. The guests joined for group photographs, marking the event’s success.

As LSME continues to champion education for all, this research book symbolizes a commitment to driving change and sparking dialogue on both local and international level.
