SDG Flag Day 2024

LSME proudly participated in the global movement to raise awareness about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by joining hundreds of educational institutions, businesses, government departments, and civil society organisations in the UK to fly the SDG flag on 25th September 2024. This initiative aligns with the institution’s commitment to the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education and its mission to cultivate responsible future leaders who are knowledgeable about sustainable development.

A lecture by LSME Chief Research & Innovations Officer Mr. Hassan Shifau introduced the students to the 17 SDGs, fostering discussions about their significance and the role of individuals in supporting the global agenda. After the lecture session, students were encouraged to make personal commitments toward supporting one aspect of the SDGs. These commitments were creatively displayed on an artwork of ‘SDG,’ letters symbolising their dedication to the cause. The event was an eye-opener for many students, who reflected on their potential role in advancing the SDGs. Students described the event experience as highly educational and expressed their commitment to contributing to the global movement for a sustainable future.
