LSME observed the Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. Wear it Pink is the flagship fundraising event of Breast Cancer Now. To participate in this event, LSME staff and students undertook a weeklong fundraising activity by wearing pink outfits and donated money for a good cause.
The aim was to help raise funds for breast cancer research and to raise awareness as a push to educate people about the realities of the condition, and support that is available.
In a tea party in our Cambrian House Campus on 22nd October 2021 – ‘Wear it Pink’ Day, the importance of Breast Cancer awareness, its prevalence, mortality, early diagnosis and treatment was disseminated by the Principal of the institution, Dr Sarita Parhi. Taking part in this initiative, the institution confirms its commitment to its public engagement agenda.
The entire staff and student community donated to this worthy course by taking part in sponsored fun indoor games and a raffle draw. Staff and Students wore pink outfits to mark the day, and it was amazing to see the enormous support from all staff and students for this worthwhile event.
The fund raising will continue till the end of October.
