LSME Organised an International Conference on Quality Management in Education

The London School of Management Education (LSME) has successfully organised an International Conference on “Quality Management in Education” on 8-9th of January 2015 at Grange City Hotel, London. LSME will establish the centre so that it is at the forefront of policy-making in further education, and so that it is setting the agenda, for the benefit of students and the sector.

Through the centre, LSME will form collaborative partnerships with universities and companies to undertake research into management education and develop globally competitive study programmes. LSME hopes to attract national and international funding for the research.

Conference DelegatesThe conference was opened by Dr Rajan Welukar, Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, who gave an inspiring speech on the importance of collaboration between countries. Former Senior Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and Professor of Public Policy at the University of Essex, Shamit Saggar, gave the closing speech. He highlighted the important role public-private sector partnerships have to play in the face of government cuts. This message was reiterated by representatives from General Electric and Tata Consultancy Services, who provided a private sector perspective on the big education challenges.

Other notable delegates included representatives from: the Universities of Surrey, Glasgow and Malta; Panjab University; South Gujarat University; The Open University of Sri Lanka; Norwegian University of Science & Technology; K S K V Kachch University; Utkal University; Hong Kong Institute of Education; Beijing Institute of Technology, China; and La Sierra University, USA.
