International Conference on Responsible Research in Education and Management and its Impact

Venue: Grange City Hotel, London (UK)

The London School of Management Education held its second International Conference in January 2016 based on the theme ‘Responsible Research in Education and Management and its Impact’. Over eighty delegates from nineteen different countries attended this Conference. The Conference was graced by eminent Guests from Political, International Governmental, Diplomatic and Academic Institutions. The Chief Guest was Lord Dholakia (http://www.parliament.uk/biographies/lords/lord-dholakia/2685) from the UK House of Lords.

The event was highlighted by very impressive and useful special lecture, keynote addresses, guest lectures and academic paper presentations. In his insightful special lecture on “Mobilising Resources for Sustainable Development Goals’’ (http://en.unesco.org/sdgs), Mr Shantha Retnasingam of UNESCO clarified the role played by private organisations in establishing capacity building networks in support of UNESCO’s Strategic Development Goals.

Professor Stephen McKinney of the University of Glasgow and Dr Peter Gray of the Norwegian University of Science & Technology (https://www.ntnu.edu/) reiterated the relevance of responsible research and its impact on policy users and Dr Dan Exton from Operation Wallacea (http://opwall.com/) presented his work on responsible research in action and described their model for sustainable research funding. Mr Paul Loranger, a Canadian Education Consultant presented his well-received topic which highlighted how to teach wisdom in schools. The Conference also provided an opportunity for all delegates to network and discuss future collaborative plans for Responsible and Sustainable Research.
